Junyan (Emma) Zhu, M.A.
Graduate Apprentice

Junyan (Emma) Zhu has served as the Graduate Apprentice for the Office of Institutional Effectiveness since August 2023. Prior to joining Baylor University, she was the Graduate Assistant to the Center for Student Engagement and Center for Enriched Learning at Geneva College. Prior to her experience in the United States, she was an IB (International Baccalaureate) English teacher at Jurong Country Garden School in China. Before that, she worked six years as an assistant director and English teacher for Australian Education Management Group where she gained experience in evaluation and accreditation in joint-venture education programs between China and Australia.
Ms. Zhu earned a bachelor’s degree in English Language and Literature from Hohai University (Nanjing, Jiangsu, China) and a MA in Higher Education Administration from Geneva College (Beaver Falls, PA). She is currently a student in Baylor’s Higher Education Studies and Leadership PhD program.
In her spare time, Ms. Zhu loves visiting libraries, museums, and concerts with her daughter, Grace; reading; playing badminton; volunteering at church; and talking to her family and friends in China.
