Administrative Unit Assessment
Annually, administrative units of the University participate in the assessment process, reporting on planning, assessment, and improvement efforts in their areas. These assessments evaluate a unit's effectiveness in achieving the unit's mission and alignment with the University's mission and strategic initiatives.
The administrative assessment process involves:
- Establishing goals or expected outcomes.
- Identifying meaningful measures and expected performance targets.
- Reporting results in relation to the performance targets.
- Aligning outcomes with strategic plans and budgets.
Annual Assessment Reports
Each academic year, the university goes through a cycle of assessment reports, performance appraisals, and budgeting. The annual assessment report, Administrative Improvement Measures (AIM) functions as an executive summary or cover page that highlights important elements of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) requirements, but also allows departments to attach supporting appendices. Our goal is to keep assessment "Missional, Meaningful, and Manageable."
