J. Ben Cox, Ph.D.
Assistant Vice Provost for Institutional Effectiveness
Ben Cox has provided leadership for the Office of Institutional Effectiveness since 2017. Prior to joining the IE Office, he served Baylor as the Associate Registrar for Business Analysis.
Prior to his work at Baylor, he worked for 7 years at Texas State Technical College where he served as Executive Director for Institutional Research and Effectiveness and as Coordinator of Curriculum.
Ben spent 4 years at Al Akhawayn University in Morrocco as an Assistant Professor, Program Coordinator for Human Resource Development, and Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Programs in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences.
Dr. Cox has a B.S. in Education from Baylor University, an M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction and a Ph.D. in Human Resource Development from Texas A&M University.
He and his wife, Wendy, have two children: Jonathan (BU ’23) and Amy (BU ’24). They are active members of Dayspring Baptist Church in Waco.
